For the number of years I am engaged in the development and application of biofloc technology for the cultivation of bathname shrimp, there have been a large number of drinks for those that people want to try to grow the bathname shrimp on their own in small volumes. So let’s move, learn the technology of growing at low cost and investment, and then let’s learn how to do it.
Having thoroughly learned the technology of growing shrimp and all the possible nuances of tying from this process, I came to the point of vysnovka, which in the minds of our country is simply unrealistic. In Persh Cherga, it was tied from tim, which may not be possible to bring a small batch of shrimp larvae. Less than 200,000 at a time, no one wants to export from the very same Thailand. That varity per larva doubled in the remaining hour. And if you add here the cost of transportation, which often doubles the quality of the shrimp itself, as well as a few and different unofficial payments, then small parties are more expensive.
The construction of a large farm that can “digest” 200,000 larvae in one cycle (800 m3 of warm sea water) can cost about $ 400,000. Everyone is well aware that a very small number of shrimp fans live in our country, who are able to pay such a sum in order to try to become a farmer and the owner of a shrimp farm.
So I decided to sit down at the computer again and try to prepare a proposal for small farmers who will still be able to learn the technology of cultivation and finally this business will be available to a large number of people who are likely to grow up and owners of large and powerful farms in Ukraine.

The technology is very simple: every three months we get 10,000 larvae, we grow them for 30 days in a volume of 3,000 liters of water weighing 1 gram. After that, we divide it into three parts of reared animals and transfer it to three pools of 10,000 liters each, where they are raised for another 90 days. That is, from start to the end of the first cycle is 120 days or four months. And then the cycle occurs every 90 days
The cost of the necessary equipment
The cost includes almost everything you need to start growing shrimp (except feed, carbon sources, soda, etc.). These are the so-called capital costs. You ask why I included artificial salt for seawater? Because we need salt at once and in the future we will add a very small amount of salt to run our farm.

The cost of such a system at the moment is:

You need a warm room with a minimum area of 9 by 11 meters. The air temperature must be at least 28C. This offer does not include equipment for heating water in swimming pools. You have the opportunity to heat the water in the pools with a “warm floor” system, and it is desirable to heat the air with batteries or a fan heater.
The room must be equipped with a ventilation system with heat recovery. Lighting rates range from 3,000 to 5,000 lux, and daylight ranges from 10 to 12 hours per day.
This system does not include automatic feeders for feeding shrimp. They are not required for the first growing experience. And when you learn to determine the daily amount of food for feeding shrimp, then you can add a feeder. And only in three large pools for growing to commercial size. The approximate cost of one feeder is $ 300.
The electrical power required to grow shrimp is a maximum of 1.6 kW / h. The compressor requires a three-phase power supply (380V), but this can be corrected with a frequency inverter that can switch two phases into three. The cost of such equipment is $ 200.
What else is needed for the farm to work?
In order for bioflocculation technology to work, we need a source of hydrocarbons. It can be sugar, molasses, sucrose, fructose and other available sources of hydrocarbons.
The main task of the bioflock system operator is to maintain the nitrogen to carbon balance at 1:16. Hydrocarbons are a source of energy for heterotrophic bacteria, which participate in the nitrogen cycle and restore balance in water.
For feeding shrimp, we will start importing special food from the European Union. Our partners have already tested this feed and have excellent results. The approximate cost of feed is 3 US dollars per kg. How much you need you can see in the table on the cost of grown products. Over time, we plan to produce our own feed in our country at a much lower price.
he minimum batch of shrimp larvae we have now agreed on is 100,000. The cost of one thousand shrimp will be about $ 55. It is clear that at the moment it is necessary to have at least 10 participants who can buy the necessary planting material in the fold. With the growing need for planting material and the number of farmers, we plan to build a laboratory for larvae in our country. This will meet the needs of our farmers and will give a huge impetus to start a real boom in our country.
