Drum filters – mechanical filtration (UKR)

Mechanical filtration is an extremely important link in the work of a recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) or UZV (the traditional name of aquaculture systems from the Soviet past).

Mechanical filters are designed to efficiently and quickly remove impurities from water (feces, feed residues, biofilm, etc.). This is done in order to prevent their possible decomposition in a favorable environment (water, heat, oxygen or its absence).

The decomposition of organic residues in water in the presence of oxygen leads to a significant use of valuable dissolved oxygen and creates an additional load (and costs) on the system.

Without the presence of oxygen, anaerobic processes take place, which lead to the formation of gases poisonous to our hydrobionts (hydrogen sulfide, methane, etc.).

Conclusion: the faster and more efficiently the process of removing organic residues goes, the better conditions are created for growing our fish.

On the Ukrainian market, you can find several types of different drum filters that are produced by us. In terms of price, these products can differ significantly due to cheaper materials, spare parts, construction, execution. What makes our drum filter different from others on the market?

1. Using thick construction plastic of German production, which holds its shape tightly, does not peel off and copes with a significant load. All parts are cut on a high-precision CNC milling machine. The parts are welded together using a special technology, which makes it possible to make a neat and strong seam.
2. We use a special professional gearbox (Taiwan) with a power of only 40 W, which makes exactly 3 revolutions per minute. This speed is important for the correct operation of the mesh cleaning mechanism.
3. We use a special controller (in Italy), which allows you to adjust the time and length of the mesh cleaning, which allows greater savings in water use and more efficient use of the main mechanisms of the drum.
4. The diameter of the shaft is 18 mm, which allows the drum to withstand enormous loads and extends the life of the device to 10 years.
5. The filter panel is made of special soft plastic, which serves as a damper when it is washed with water under pressure, and extends its service life. Plus a convenient fastening system that allows you to quickly replace this panel with a new one.
6. A stainless tray (special design) for draining dirty water allows you to efficiently and quickly remove this water for further processing. The diameter of the drain hole is 108 mm.
7. View. We care about the fact that our filters not only work well, but also have a beautiful aesthetic appearance.

All these developments undoubtedly increase the cost of manufacturing our products. But if you calculate the service life of this product (more than 10 years) and compare it with similar domestic models, then using our products is 50% cheaper.
